JSBM Competition 2021 "Young Composers"
The Competition at Johann Sebastian Bach Music Centre is designed to strengthen children's creativity and
to reinforce their positivity by engaging them in meaningful musical activities during the pandemic.
The format this year is as follows:
- write a music work (own composition), perform & video tape it.
This responds to the current pandemic - related limitations on going out and performing in the public, as the whole process can be done at home or in the neighborhood. The idea is that the children, while at home or playing outside, can experiment with their own musical instruments (if they play and have any) or use different objects from their surroundings to produce sound and noises, which could be organized in a music piece. The piece should be submitted in a written form (use notation or playing guidance) and performed (video taped).
Please create a folder on Google drive and share with the above mentioned. Submit two documents (music score and video file of the performance) + your contact details (name, telephone, birthday, correspond address) by email to [email protected]
(Subject "JSBM Competition 2021").
- The deadline for submission is 30th of April 2021. The results will be announced by the end of May 2021.
* JSBM invites you to take part at our "Composition Workshop" (April 7 - 9, scheduled on each day from 10 to 11:30 am), where our professional team will help you to develop your musical ideas into a composition and to prepare your work for submission. Enquiries & Enrolment please contact 5403-1747 (Ms. Lydia) or 5540-2108 (Dr. Nikolay) via phone call or WhatsApp message.
There will be acknowledgment letters for the first three best compositions as chosen by the audition committee.
Hoping that many of you will participate!
COMPETITION RESULTS:
The 5 best compositions have been selected and included into the archive for child and youth music compositions of the University of Arts in Graz, Austria. Please download the file below for more information.
