JSBM Hong Kong to launch a new project in collaboration with JSBM Vienna: Music Talent Lab
· Music Talent Lab – What is It?
Music Talent Lab is the Name of JSBM’s Gifted Music Educational Framework.
· What is Gifted Music Education?
Put simply it is a means of offering music education as a priority within the curriculum.
· Who Promotes it and Where Does it Happen?
Many leading European countries take ‘Gifted Music Education’ extremely seriously by organising unique music school systems – supported by national umbrella organisations who raise music education to a priority level.
· Where Does JSBM Hong Kong Come In?
JSBM plans to set up a similar programme in Hong Kong in order to empower and support gifted music students.
· How Gifted Do the Students Need to Be?
Dedicated 8 to 12 years old pupils who value and enjoy music may register for the programme.
· What is the Ultimate Goal?
Talented youngsters will study with JSBM in Hong Kong until they successfully pass the Junior and Intermediate Levels of the programme.
There will be two options for graduating at the senior level: either with us in Hong Kong, or (after passing an entry exam) the student will be able to continue their education in our sister school, Johann Sebastian Bach Musikschule in Vienna.
· What Steps Must be Followed?

The Gifted Music Programme "Young Masters" of JSBM Vienna and the Music University of Vienna is our best practice example. Young Masters is a project within the scope of mdw's Enrichment Programme for the Exceptionally Gifted and an open promotion concept supporting exceptionally talented young musicians of the mdw and the Johann Sebastian Music School in Vienna.
